Appearance:

Yuzuriha Nekoi is rather tall (like most CLAMP characters) and has short, black hair that comes just below her ears. She is mostly seen wearing her school uniform that consists of a long-sleeved, dark green vest with a white collared shirt beneath it and red ribbon around the collar. She also wears a darker green skirt that comes above her knees and socks that come just above her ankles with black shoes.

Personality:

She's a rather bubbly teenager that always seems to smile. Yuzuriha tries to remain upbeat despite difficult times and often uses determination to overcome it. She can be thought of as an uplifting spirit among her friends, the Dragons of Heaven, and seems to brighten usually dull moods. But just like any teenager, or anyone in her position, she does get overwhelmed at pressure. She becomes sad at times but it usually doesn't last very long. Despite her rather frail appearance she's a courageous and strong girl. It doesn't seem like she lets much of anything stand in her way and is actually viewed as the most friendly of any of the Dragons. She has a big heart and she's not hesitant to show that. This is especially seen when she falls for Kusanagi. Though they have a huge difference in age...it's the fact that he is a member of the opposing faction which seems to be the true obstacle. Yuzuriha is one of those rare people that believes there is good in everyone and she has strong feelings about the human race as a whole. Shes doesn't care that Kusanagi is supposed to be her enemy...she sees that he is good-natured and despite what her comrades might think she maintains her feelings for him.

As for other points... Yuzuriha is also a fan of sweets and seemingly likes to cook. She can almost always be found nearby a sweet shop or with a box of pocky in her hand.

Abilities/Strengths:

Being a descendent of the inugami clan Yuzuriha's ability is being able to summon Inuki, though Inuki remains always by her side. By whistling in battle she seems to be able to unlock Inuki's shapeshifting ability where he can become anything she wants. Yuzuriha prefers to fight with a sword in battle and appears to be more agility based.

Weaknesses:

Being that Yuzuriha is a young girl she doesn't seem to be able to withstand a lot of attacks. Her sword technique is well polished but her defensive capabilities are quite low.

History:

The year is 1999 and a battle for Earth is about to take place in Tokyo between the Dragons of Heaven (Seven Seals) and the Dragons of Earth (Seven Angels). Each side is fighting for something different and what they feel is the best possible future for Earth. On one side the Dragons of Earth are fighting to end the world, claiming the Earth wishes for this due to humanity's carelessness and mistreatment. Ending the world would mean a new rebirth and a chance for humanity to begin anew. The other side, the Dragons of Heaven, is fighting to save the world and humanity with it- they are on the side of the people. They believe humans are aware of their mistakes and will learn to improve.

It is said that before this battle begins that a being known as Kamui will appear and choose a side- making whichever side he chooses the victorious one. Both factions are set to persuade him when he arrives back to Tokyo (having moved away for six years) until the dreamseer for the Dragons of Heaven, known as Hinoto, foresees in a dream that there are two Kamuis. Hinoto's sister, Kanoe, is not a dreamseer but supports the Dragons of Earth and is able to enter Hinoto's dreams. Kanoe witnesses the dream of the two Kamuis and begins trying to search the other out once the true Kamui is discovered.

The other Kamui is actually his friend, Fuuma, who is his twin star meaning that whichever faction Kamui decides to side with Fuuma will automatically side with the opposing faction.

When Kamui chooses the Dragons of Heaven Fuuma becomes a Dragon of Earth.

Among the Dragons of Heaven in particular is a young schoolgirl known as Yuzuriha Nekoi. She is a descendent of the inugami clan of the Mitsumine Shrine and even has her own inugami, Inuki. Inuki cannot be seen by just anyone, however, only those with occult powers are able to see him. She has a habit of often speaking aloud in public...or so it would seem to many, but it is almost always directed at Inuki.

Since she was young, however, her grandmother constantly told Yuzuriha that she would participate in the final battle for the world. She's grown up understanding just how intense it might be so she tends to be a bit maturer than normal girls her age.

Her childhood was rough. She's had Inuki since she was very little and assumed that everyone could see him. Naturally the school children would tease her and make fun because they couldn't see him and accused her of either lying or just being weird.

During a school assignment where she had to draw a picture, Inuki showed her to a waterfall that she never knew existed. Determined to draw the perfect picture Yuzuriha got to work and when it came time to hand in her assignment the students claimed she was lying as they had never seen that particular waterfall, either. Feeling that this was her chance to prove that Inuki did exist she decided to lead them to the waterfall but they soon became lost on the way. One of the boys fell into the raging stream below but Inuki managed to save him, which is only witnessed and believed by Yuzuriha. Cold, tired, and wet the young group of travelers return home and are all promptly scolded by their parents. In the end none of Yuzuriha's friends believed her...nor did the people she was trying to prove the waterfall's existence to.

It is because of this that Yuzuriha has decided to never fall in love or date anyone that cannot see Inuki, as she does not feel it is fair to him.

On her way to meet the first few Dragons of Heaven Inuki saves a small child from being hit by a car. The mother is confused and not sure how her son was saved but just as Yuzuriha is about to thank Inuki she spies an older man, later known as Kusanagi of the Dragons of Earth, petting Inuki and praising him. Understandably shocked, Yuzuriha tearfully embraces him, as he is the first person to ever see Inuki. She ends up meeting him later at a park by accident and telling him about herself. Before she leaves she asks that next time he do the same. It's discovered much later that she knew of him being a Dragon of Earth the entire time and she makes it quite clear that she likes him regardless.

While the final battle has yet to take place there are events that begin to occur that set the wheels in motion.

After the other Shinken is born from Kamui's aunt Kotori bears witness to the gruesome scene and ends up collapsing. Kotori, Fuuma, and Kamui are taken into Nokoru Imonoyama's care where Kamui finally decides to become a Dragon of Heaven. This, in turn, forces Fuuma to become a Dragon of Earth and he ends up killing Kotori.

Distraught...Kamui falls into a catatonic state and Subaru volunteers to help release him since they both have many similarities to each other. Upon reawakening Kamui softens up and a small funeral is held for Kotori where the newest Dragon of Heaven, Karen Kasumi, makes herself known.

Now that both factions are complete the final battle is nearly at hand. Yuzuriha is being pulled from a while after Kotori's funeral.
